I often get asked, “When is the right time for me to go on my first solo trip?” Or many want to know when I decided to take my first trip alone. Many factors will weigh into your decision, so frankly, I can’t give you a straight answer.
But I do know others will tell you to wait until summer, until you’re done with school, or when your kids get just a little older. Many will also tell you how hard it is, how expensive it is going to be, how dangerous so-and-so place is if you go alone.
Ok. Well, sometimes they are right. But you know what? If you wait, you are going to regret it, and regret is the WORST.
My suggestion is to go on that trip you have been dreaming of right now. Or as soon as possible. Because you are never going to feel 100% prepared, and you are never going to feel 100% ready. You will never have the perfect amount in your bank account, and the world is always going to be changing. You will feel scared. You will feel alone.
But if you’re smart about it, plan ahead just a little, and feel confident in your decision to do it, you are going to be just fine. I promise. You can do this, and you are going to thank yourself every single day that you took the leap and tried. May it be across the world or across the state, take that trip you have been dreaming of.
