The Ultimate Travel Journal
I am so excited to announce something BIG for you guys today: my labor of love over the last 6 months (and really, the last six years) has finally arrived. The Pack This Journal is here! What is this, you ask?
I created the Pack This travel journal with you, my readers and fellow travelers in mind.
How it works
Travels are packed full of little, fleeting moments. We need tangible things to reflect on our adventures, and remind us of our investment; in the experiences that make up a life well lived.
Now you have the Pack This travel journal to help. In one journal, you can keep your words and your things. You can pack it full of whatever you want, and the memories that are attached to specific items. Use the pen to write your words, and the included glue dots to add your items to the journal.
The pages offer space to write, doodle, glue, and track every moment of your trip. The lines are there to keep your organized, but disregard them if you need. This is your journal, do with it what you want.
I encourage you to collect everything you see: the card from your favorite restaurant, the receipt from the bus you took outside the city, the plane ticket that took you exactly where you needed to go. Everything has a memory attached to it, so use it.
Do you remember my Huffington Post article from a few years back? (I also posted about it on the blog HERE). Well, I had so many people ask me about this technique, I finally decided to create a travel journal exactly as I would want it. I can never quite find the journal I love for my trips, so I decided to make one myself!
Parts of the journal I love:
- The spiral so I can fold it around, and write at any angle. Perfect for trains, planes, and writing in tight spaces.
- The strap around the outside to hold all my tickets, papers, and various (random) items in place.
- The glue dots included in the front pouch so I don’t have to worry about keeping a glue stick on hand to secure receipts and ticket stubs as I go.
- The pen included, so I always have something to write with.
- The different sizes of the journal, so I can bring the smaller one on short trips, and the bigger one on longer adventures.
- It is completely customizable! Write your name or your trip on the front, and create the pages however you want!
Starting a Movement
My goal for the Pack This Journal is simple: I want to start a movement. Not only to encourage people to travel, but to savor every moment of their trip. May it be a small weekend journey, or a longer sojourn abroad, the journal is designed to help you remember your trip, and remind you of why it was so special. I want you to post about your journal adventures with the hashtag #PackThisJournal.
Coming soon will also be a Facebook page for people to connect and share their adventures, as well as Stories from the Road on the official website of those using the journal to inspire and learn how others are traveling and using their journals. I can’t wait to build this community of mindful travelers together!
Now it is your turn. You can view my Etsy listing of the shop, or check out the official Pack This Journal website. I want to hear what you think! What would be in your perfect travel journal?
