Starting the day at Joseph Phelps
Private tasting at Macauley
It has been well documented how much I enjoy wine (and Coors Light, but we won’t get into that now). Wine is my saving grace on days when life seems to throw you its many curveballs. So a weekend drinking nothing but wine sounds like heaven, right? And in one of the most beautiful wine areas in the entire world, Napa? Done and done.
Last time we went wine tasting in the central coast of California, we had a fantastic time. This time, we headed even further north to Napa Valley. After short flight into Sonoma, we started Saturday off right with private wine tours of both Joseph Phelps and a little winery called Maculey. Last, we went to a winery where the owner build an entire 121 room castle on his vineyard. People have away too much money. All very interesting wineries, with little details (and wines) that I liked.
We broke up the wine with decedent food, served in breathtaking settings. I think I could get used to this Napa living. The slow pace filled with little indulgences was the perfect way to spend a weekend.
I hope your weekend is filled with this kind of happiness.
