So I randomly went horseback riding throughout the hills surrounding Cusco the other day. “Why would you do that?” you may ask. Why not!? It was cheap, something fun to do, and my friends were up for it.
Now, I haven’t been on a horse in years; not since Nicole and I took lessons because we begged our parents we were responsible enough to own a horse, and they figured lessons were their only option. Persistency does work kids. I had completely forgotten how to actually ride a horse, but thankfully the horses we were given were old and slow. Just what we needed.
Our tour (for about $14) was supposed to take us through ruins all around Cusco. But typical for South America, the guy pretty much just took us to one area and back, and didn’t even explain what we were seeing. To be honest, we didn’t really care. We were happy to be outside in the sunshine and trying something new. All in all, it was a good day.
