Come on Down!

by Leave a Comment

Last week I accomplished a lifelong dream (although I did not fulfill the lifelong goal) of going to The Price is Right! You know, the show hosted by Bob Barker (now Drew Carey) where they yell “COME ON DOWN…” Since I was a kid, I have watched that show every summer break, sick day, or random vacation day I had. To this day my mom still watches it every single morning, so saying I was raised watching this show is an understatement.
The day was long, with lots of lines, waiting, and signing your life away in case you won.  The shining light through all this was getting to spend a good day with my sister and some friends. The theme of this episode, which will air on March 20th, was siblings. Everyone in the audience was a sibling of some kind. I thought for sure my sister and I would get picked since we tried to be extra spunky while in line (which is hard to do after spending 5 hours waiting). I really wish I could tell you that I got to “go on down” but unfortunately… I did not.

We did not win a new car, trip to Switzerland or a hot tub like a few other contestants. But we did get to sit right next to the announcer which was entertaining, and I did get interviewed by Drew Carey during the commercial breaks which made for funny stories later. So although I did not win the car that I desperately needed, I did get to see how all the “magic” happens in the tiny studio that looks much bigger on TV, and spend some quality time with those I love.

I only have a few pictures since they take away your phone/cameras pretty early on, but make sure to watch on March 20th !

Oh those famous name tags…
