Even though this was my second go-around to the Eiffel Tower this tour up seemed a bit more ominous than my first chatter-filled experience. Going to the tip top of the ET, arguably the most romantic spot in the world, was interesting by myself. While families, love birds and tour groups rambled behind me, I stood unaccompanied in line. Throughout my week away, this was the first time I felt really lonely, which was an interesting feeling since I had been so elated most of the trip. But I knew what I was getting into, and I knew how to conquer this feeling of sadness. Heck, I was in Paris! You can’t get much more exciting than that.
With loneliness at bay, I worked my way through the crowd to the middle and then the very top of the Eiffel Tower viewing decks. It was extremely cold and dreary out (this didn’t help with the mood thing) so I grabbed a 10 Euro glass of champagne, and shivered my way through it, determined to enjoy the experience despite the weather. I am not going to lie, the bubbles helped. I was in my favorite city, immersed in the culture and this beautiful landmark. Although the pictures are dark, I think it shows I walked in circles around the viewing deck taking pictures at all angles. I love this city, and I think it loves me right back.
Looks so lovely! I haven't been to Paris since I was 7 years old. Must go back!
